EQUALITY

BLACKWELL PRIMARY SCHOOL EQUALITY OBJECTIVES 2022-2023

The Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) requires schools to prepare and publish equality objectives at least once every four years. The PSED was introduced by the Equality Act 2010 and applies to all schools, including maintained schools, academies, independent schools, maintained nursery schools, and maintained and non-maintained special schools.

Equality objectives are formulated from the School Improvement Plan 2022/2023.  These objectives reflect the school’s ethos and values and will be updated annually.

Our Equality and Community Cohesion Policy aims to demonstrate our compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty:

Our Objectives

  • To provide equality of opportunity and accessibility within the curriculum for all groups of learners to achieve success.  (Evidenced by data analysis of gender trends and vulnerable groups).
  • To ensure every learner has full access to the enrichment opportunities on offer and are actively encouraged and supported to participate.  (Evidenced by analysis of enrichment and extra-curricular participation).
  • To value all stakeholder’s opinions, facilitate them having a voice and to promote democracy. (Evidenced through e.g. election of representatives to the School Council, weekly class forums, Parents’ Forum, Link Governors work on School Improvement).
