SCHOOL UNIFORM

The Staff and Governors wholeheartedly encourage the wearing of school uniform.  Experience has shown that wearing school uniform helps to develop a sense of pride in the school and helps support the working atmosphere.  We have an attractive and practical uniform, which, we believe, adds to a sense of identity.  We hope that you will support the school in making sure that the children wear the correct uniform.

By wearing our school uniform smartly, we hope that they will feel proud to identify themselves with Blackwell Primary School.  When wearing our school uniform, our children are representing themselves as ambassadors for our school.

The school uniform at Blackwell is required as follows:

• Pale blue polo shirt (non-logo)
• Charcoal trousers/shorts
• Charcoal skirt or pinafore or pale blue & white gingham or striped dress
• Navy school V-necked sweatshirt/cardigan with non-logo or Blackwell logo (Mapac)
• White, grey, black socks or tights
• Black trainers (completely black) or black shoes

P.E. KIT

• Navy t-shirt with non-logo or Blackwell logo (Mapac)
• Navy shorts
• Navy jogging trousers (for colder weather)
• Black trainers

OTHER EQUIPMENT / UNIFORM

• Red book bag with non-logo or Blackwell logo (Mapac)
• P.E. bag with non-logo or Blackwell logo (Mapac)
• Navy cap or sunhat with non-logo or Blackwell logo (Mapac)

OUTDOOR LEARNING CLOTHES

Please dress your child in clothes that you do not mind becoming dirty!  These will be weather dependent (layers may be required, if cold), but may include:

• Long-sleeved tops and trousers/tracksuit bottoms, whatever the weather, as this will stop them being stung by nettles, being scratched etc.
• T-shirt
• Jumper and extra jumper for warmth
• Waterproof coat/jacket and waterproof trousers
• Warm socks
• Wellingtons or shoes which are suitable for wet and muddy conditions

SPORTING EVENTS AND CLUBS

Additional items of clothing may be needed to take part in some extra-curricular sporting activities:

• Football – boots, shin pads

School uniform can be purchased from Mapac, via the link below.  Items of clothing without a logo can be purchased from any clothing retailer.

We are aware that the cost of living is rising.  Therefore, as long as uniform is plain (no slogans or logos) and follows the colours as listed, your child will be dressed appropriately to attend Blackwell Primary School.  A supply of second-hand uniform is also available.  Please enquire at the School Office.

All clothing that is worn to school should be clearly labelled with the child’s name on it.  When an item of lost property is found, and it is clearly named, it can be quickly returned to its owner.
