PUPIL PREMIUM

Pupil Premium Grant

Did you know?

If you are in receipt of any of the benefits listed below, you are entitled to apply for a free school meal, which will also result in Blackwell receiving a small grant to help support your child’s education.

The Pupil Premium Grant provides extra funding to schools to help us give your children extra support. It is paid to schools so that they can invest in specific support measures, to address the issues that may be preventing them from reaching their potential, or give additional enrichment opportunities that you may otherwise not be able to afford.

Even If your child is receiving Universal Infant Free School Meals because they are in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, please continue with the application, if you are eligible, as this will enable us to claim valuable ‘Pupil Premium’ funding.

Who is eligible?

Anyone in receipt of any of the benefits specified:

  • Income support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support from National Asylum Support Service (NASS) under part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The Guarantee Element of the State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (with no working tax credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190
  • Working Tax Credit run-on
  • Universal Credit (with no element of Working Tax Credit)

Unfortunately, if you are in receipt of Working Tax credits you are not eligible for Pupil Premium Funding.
